An independent editorial group that reads the footnotes so you don’t have to.
We produce clear, sourced writing on the subjects that matter to businesses, to professionals, and to anyone who would rather be right than loud.
We started with one slightly grumpy observation: most of the internet looks like research and is not. Press releases dressed as articles. Sponsored posts cosplaying as analysis. Pages written to rank, not to inform, and certainly not to be read by a human with a pulse.
So we do the opposite. Every piece we publish is researched, sourced, and reviewed before it goes live. Our authors are named. Our methodology is public. When we get something wrong, we fix it in the open, which is less comfortable than editing it quietly at 2 a.m. and hoping nobody kept a screenshot.
What we cover
Our focus areas are business operations and finance, technology and software, public policy and regulation, and consumer markets. Within those, we produce original analysis, practical guides, and data-driven research.
We stay out of subjects we are not equipped to evaluate. If we cannot independently verify a claim, we attribute it to its source and tell you how confident we are. Sometimes that is “very.” Sometimes it is “ask again in a quarter.”
How we work
The full process lives on our Editorial Standards page. The short version: we research from primary sources, we cite everything, we review for accuracy, and we update a piece when new information changes the picture.
We are independent. We do not accept payment for coverage, and we disclose any relationship that could affect that. Some of our publications carry affiliate links. Those are always marked, and they are never allowed to bend a conclusion.
Our network
Our research runs across a network of topic-specific sites, each one built around a single subject so we can go deep instead of wide and shallow. Every site in the network holds to the same standards. No weak links, pun fully intended.
